Junipers of the Southern Rockies

$200.00

Original acrylic painting on raw canvas with clear gesso base. Unstretched canvas is 11x11.

this painting is #10 in the 26 Endangered Ecosystem series that will exhibit in early 2027. Pre-order the painting now to reserve it ahead of exhibition and it will ship to you for free in 2027. Email alissasyverson@gmail.com for any questions.

context: The tenth piece of the series is the juniper ecosystem of the southern Rocky Mountains. Junipers as well as much of the ecosystem in the southern rocky mountains are really susceptible to hotter and larger wildfires as our climate changes and these intense fires become more frequent. Also, longer droughts reduce soil moisture and weaken treesm making them more vulnerable to disease.

An organization working to conserve the southern rocky mountain ecosystem is Rocky Mountain Wild, which protects wild lands throughout the Southern Rocky Mountain region of Colorado, southern Wyoming, eastern Utah, and northern New Mexico. In order to secure a biologically healthy future for the wildlife and people of the Rocky Mountains, the organization protects at-risk species and ecosystems and restores degraded habitats and native species that once populated the region.
